Co-ordinated Gifts for Tweens

Hi all.

For regular readers of my blog, you know I LOVE a good box and co-ordinated gift. Recently whilst blurfing (blog surfing) I stumbled across Sam from Pootles Papercraft in the UK. She make ALL kinds of boxes and gifts and even does DO's for the visual learners amongst us.

The original contact I had with Sam's blog involved today's project. Miss 9 had 3 friends (twins turning 11 and a bestie at school turning 10) that needed gifts. Sam's box here was the perfect opportunity to give these gorjus boxes a whirl. Here is the finished projects.......

For the twins......... (remember to  click on the photos if you wish to make them larger)

The card was inspired by this one.

Aren't these boxes just delish???? The lids close on an angle as you can see here. Sam's box did not cover the sides in DSP, but I really liked the look of this.

The pencils I found in the Reject Shop. Pack of 12 for $2....so bargain indeed. I popped them in a skinny cello bag and made a topper with the 2 3/8" and 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punches and you get this....(the stamp set I used is an old retired SAB set).

Now for Miss Turning 10....well it was the same idea, but just a different colour combination.....and it HAD to be PINK!!! (insert exasperated pink-ugh sigh!!)

The card was inspired by LeeAnn Greff. It was in her January Newsletter, but I cannot find a pic of it to share with you. The thing I loved about it was the seamless transition between the embossed CS and the ribbon. She (I think) must have used the simply scored, but I used the "x" emboss of the Needlepoint EF's.

Thanks for popping by. If you are in Sydney, I hope you are high and dry. The rain has been INSANE.....seriously...I think we are near 10 days straight now. I can't recall seeing rain this heavy and persistent for a long time.

Addit.....

Oops...I am such a bad Mumma!!! Miss 9 received some card making stamps and supplies for her birthday (early June) and was very keen to make the twins a card each. I helped with the corner decorations....it is the Postage Stamp punch cut on the diagonal. Worked a treat!!! This is what she made......

New Month, New Goals

Hi all!

Please do not adjust your blog readers, yes it is me after nearly a month off the air. Sadly I found that life somewhat overwhelmed me and as usual I took on WAY too much....and finally my body gave way.

I am trying to get use to this whole new Demo thing, manage my family, work, create, play my sport, attended my yearly craft camp and put out all the wee spot fires that us as mothers do!!! My diabetes at the beginning of may did NOT like the way I was living my life and gave me a nasty ultimatum. I had to take notice and as a result I have been slowly getting things back up on track!!

Now....what to share....there is sooooooooooo much....I kid you not!!! I am also hoping to place my first PRE order for the new SU catalogue...so I will have a lot more inky fun to share with you too!!!

One of the things I got onto a little late was the whole All Dressed Up Framelits. Not being the biggest girly girl...the thought of playing with paper dresses and mannequins was not an up there ambition for me....but I have been proven totally WRONG!!!! I LOVE them and there is sooo much you can do with them!!!

I will share a mix of projects done, although sadly I have not photographed all of the fun!

The first card was based on a card I found on Stampin' Connection. I don't work with yellow much but found this a lot of fun.

On one dress I used the embossed side and on the other I used the debossed side.

The next one is based on a card I saw by Cristena Bagne here. I actually did it in red first, but did not photograph it. This one is in Marina Mist. Sorry about the dark picture as Sydney had some VERY dodgy weather around this time.

The next one just uses the mannequin from the set and was my very first use with the Natural Composition DSP. Lordy, I do love this paper!! I based it on a card by Niki Toll seen here.

Last but no means least....I got my co-ordinated card/gift thing on and made a little lip balm/lipstick holder for Nicole Derendorf (to say thanks) and Angela Sargeant (for her birthday). Again, the pictures are dodgy and are taken at my workplace, hence the "clinical" backgrounds!!!

The little holders were from a tutorial by Brenda Quintana here.

They are seriously so easy, have a beautiful WOW factor and go up in a flash.

Thanks so much for popping by and also for all you patience in my absence. I am going to endeavour to try and get 1-2 posts a week up and also keep you informed as to all the stuff going on in the world of SU.

My Very First

Hi all,

I was just chatting to a friend overseas and we both cannot get over the fact that March is nearly over!!! Where is the time going???

I have now been a demo for over 2 months and even that time has evaporated. I recently held my very first workshop at my dear friends house. We made a series of 3 x 3 note tags that incorporated all things SAB. They are a direct CASE of the ones I found on Stampin' Connection by Yvonne Ashe. I do not think Yvonne has a blog (or at least I cannot find one)!!

This is what we made.......

I also made something a little speccy for the hostess....as she was my very first hosty and also a great friend to help me on my SU way. True story....she actually introduced me to SU some 5 years ago when I was a reserve "off the bench" bum-on-a-seat for a workshop she held. there I was introduced to the SU punches and from there I was hooked!!! This is what I made her.....

It was filled with ribbons, buttons and of course, chocolate!!!! The ladies (and the 3 x 10yo's) that wee there had a fun time creating. Oops....just realised a couple managed to avoid the photo!!!

I was lucky enough that ladies did place orders and as a nice way to say thanks, I made them the  following notecards. These were based on the ones from Mary Fish's blog here.

I learnt so much in such a short time. Hectic yet so rewarding.

Just Three Words........

Hi All.

Needless to say the insanity button has been pressed WAY too many times around here of late. I cannot believe where all the time is going!!!

I am channelling a lot of energy into this Friday....my very first Workshop/Hostess party as a SU demo. A wonderful friend is hostessing for me and I am very excited/nervous/and all that goes with it.

One thing I absolutely love about the SU and greater crafting community is the amazing friendships. I have so many fab friends online and on Facebook, many (most) of whom I have never met. Yet, any time that one has trouble or falls on hard times, there are sooooo many rallying around with handmade RAK's in letterboxes and email/messages of courage and the like.

I had cause to send a card to a FB friend that has had a HORROR of a time of late. i do not know this girl very well, but something inside of me said I had to do something. So....with some stealth investigation to source her addy, I sent her this card........

It also gave me the chance to further play with some SAB goodies...being the Sycamore Street DSP, the Madison Avenue stamp set and the co-ordinating buttons and ribbon. I will admit to not using much Tangerine Tango at all, but I am kind of getting use to it using it with this paper.

I used SWM's to colour the flower and used the new Oval Framelits (available in the new seasonal mini). Made it all oh so easy. I also carried through the hexagonal shape in the DSP by embossing the DSP with the Hexagon EF!! It was finished off with a banner and a button with ribbon threaded through it. Easy-peasy!!

I received a beautiful message of thanks from the young lass too. Looks like it did the trick. Glad I listened to my gut!!

Thanks for popping by. I have a couple more projects to show you with this year's SAB goodies. Remember it finished on March 22nd, so if you have your eye on anything, drop me a line and I can hopefully help you out.
