Little Girls Simply love......

Good afternoon all.

Man have I been slack in posting!! I have been so busy starting out as a demo and then balancing a bunch of birthday's and other celebrations, there is oh so much to show you.

Given that I have a Miss 8 of my own, it goes without saying that I have a lot of little girl's cards and gifts to come up with. One that I have made a couple of times now is a lip gloss/balm butterfly. I find that EVERYONE likes butterflies, no matter what their age. There are many versions of these around in cyberspace, but these are what I have come up with.......

This first one has an orange glitter gloss in it that I picked up from my local Woolworths. It came in a 3 pack (with a pink and a clear one too) I used the colour of the lip gloss as the basis for my colour combination. Here is what the butterfly lip gloss holder looks like with CS only....

Seriously, they are very easy to do with the Beautiful Wings Bigz die and they are a massive hit. Here is the card and the small gift together......

The next set just kept getting added to. Miss 8 picked out the DSP and so this one is a mix of DSP and CS. Purely by chance the gloss colour was the same pink as the DSP!!! The gift was teamed with a small post it pad holder that I have done many times before (search this blog for post it holder for the links). I found the wee bead making set (also a dumb luck find in Big W) and then a ribbon embellishment and away we went. The small stamp on the present on the post it holder is from Pretty Petites, available until March 22nd in SAB with the matching punch. It is VERY cute and is brilliant for large cards and small. The card is a "Z" fold one.

Guaranteed smiles I promise.

Thanks for popping by. Plenty more to share...soon I hope.

Baby Boom - II

Morning all.

Yes, another doctor in the practice where I work (there are 7 GP's in all of varying ages!) had a double blessing in her life recently. She became a Grandmother twice withing 6 weeks, both grandsons. I guess she opened her Grandmother account with a bang!! To celebrate the occasion, I made a card for both her and her husband to congratulate them on their grandchildren. I based it around the pram in the last post.

The pram is the same size as the card in the previous post, but this time Bashful Blue instead of Whisper White.

The sky is sponged using the same technique  as I used in the Puff the Magic Dragon and Angry Birds cards here and here. You will also find the link for it there.

I think the sentiment fitted the card perfectly. The new Grandmother LOVED it too, so I was also very happy!!

Thanks for popping by. Still more baby fun coming!

Cherries - I

Morning all.

Question - Have you ever been strolling through your local crafting paradise and stumbled across something that inspired you then and there?? That is how today's cards started. My local craft haunt is Alice in Paperland. I am always there for MUCH longer than I plan and Alice is such a sweetheart. I was there recently with one of my netball gals helping her sort and suss some things for her daughter (Miss 10). Whilst there, I found the SWEETEST cherry paper by Doodlebug. This is it close up.....

I immediately thought of the wee cherry stamp I had at home and the mojo flowed from there. I made 3 cards, picking up the colours from the paper. These are the cards....

With a red base....

..a pink base....

And one in landscape.......

As you can see, I need to work a bit on my "bannering"!! However, I was very happy with the way that they turned out. I think they are perfect for a little girl's birthday. As my next post will show....turns out, I was right!! En masse, they look pretty good...

Thanks for popping by again. I love to read your comments. Remember, if you have any questions about what I have made, please feel free to drop me a line. My e mail address is under my profile.

Cute Critters

Hi All.

I have some more punch art to share with you today. Some time back my good friend mentioned to me that her girls liked particular animals and if I made something for their birthday (they are twins), could I somehow incorporate them. One LOVES (bordering obsessed) owls and the other has a passion for dragons.

I recalled a tutorial for sale by the uber talented Jackie Topa here. I have had my eye on it for a long time and finally relented. This is what I came up with for the girls.....

and.....

The wee note things are post-it holders. So quick and easy. I used Dawn Griffiths tute here. I have actually used it many a time!!

You may recall seeing a version of the owl card recently and you are right. I made it for a 50th birthday card here. My friend saw this and wanted it for one of the girls!!

Thanks for popping by. Will be back soon with wedding cards, more dragons and even a bit of fruit on the side!!!

Wise "Old" Owl

Morning all.

Today's project was a gift for one of the secretaries at my work. She turned 50....but it was a very covert operation. However, I could not let the event go by unheralded. It kind of had a "I don't see/hear/or speak of 50" feel to it.

I was immediately reminded of a card I saw on Kerry Bunting's blog here. to go with it, I had a wee post it holder from Bronwyn Eastley's blog here. A tweak here and an adjustment there and this is what I came up with.......

And the gift together.......

I will admit to doing a very big happy dance when this one was finished as it looked better than I had hoped. The best "win" was being able to separately stamp the sentiment on the card and have it balance....real "fist-pump" moment. The recipient really got a giggle out of it too...and laughter on your birthday is a great gift.

The post it note holder is form Dawn Griffiths blog here.

Thanks for popping by.

Co-ordinated Tulip Fun

Morning all.
Finally (I hear you laud), she has something crafty to show!!!

This is the 2nd of the tulip cards I made for a secretary that I use to work with. We have remained good friends even though I left my old work over 2 1/2 years ago. I went with a favourite colour combo of purples and green.

Here is the card.....

Now....what to give with it.....hmmmmmmmmmmm?? Ever find that you have a gift....and nothing to go with it....well I found a solution!!! I made her a wee note card holder from 2 of the Scallop Envelope dies joined together. What I finally made was a mildly amended version of this. The end result was this..... (front and back)

And side......

It held comfortably 4 note cards that were 3 x 3 inches and 4 envelopes. These were the cards inside. I also stamped the envelopes so they matched.

....and of course the card and gift ready to go......

Needless to say....she loved them. Purely by co-incidence, she had a gift at home that she had forgotten a card for...but now does!!!

Thanks for dropping by. I will try and list all the bits used, but there was a lot. If you have any questions....please ask and I will answer.

Stuff used:
CS: (SU) Pear Pizzaz, Concord Crush, Whisper White, In Colours DSP 6 x 6 stack

More Blossom Fun

Morning all.

I want to share some more fun I have had with the Build-a-Blossom stamp and punch. This is seriously so easy to use and the cards go up so quickly. I sourced this card on SCS, but decided to change the colours up as the person it was going to loved blues. Here is the blue version......

I curled the edges of the flower over my bone folder to give it a slightly 3D-ish look.

Now...as I had not done a Flower bookmark for a while, this is what went in as the present.

And here are the 2 together.......

Thanks for popping by. I have been through all my pictures and found at least another 2 weeks of things I have not shared with you. So.....you may have to buckle in and brace yourselves!!

Stuff used:

Stamps: (SU) Build A Blossom, So Happy For You (SAB '11)

Sweet CASE-ing - #2

As promised, here is another CASE'd card done with Sweet Summer.

I drew inspiration from this card. This card proved very much more a challenge with dimensions, embossing and the like. This is what I came up with....

Still practicing the whole blender pen thing....I am convinced it is MUCH harder with light colours....I dunno!!! Again, the flowers are cut out and mounted on dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake ink which lets the flowers pop a bit more I think.

Thanks again for dropping by. With any luck, I should be posting a little more regularly soon.

Stuff Used:
CS: (SU) Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Ink: (SU) Black Stazon, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzaz, Pretty In Pink, SWM's in black and Summer Sun (bee)

Punches: (SU) Eyelet border punch
Other Bits: SU - Blushing Bride ribbon, Square Lattice embossing folder, dimensionals, white 1/2 pearls and pink rhinestones fm stash

Baa-baa Black Sheep

Tis really amazing how time flies....isn't it. You may (or may not) recall a card I may for triplets born here. Well...those triplets have just turned ONE!!!!! Their Aunt asked me again to make them a speccy card to celebrate this occasion. I was inspired by a card I saw on Kerry Bunting's blog here. This was my card for the birthday bubba's.......

I took this pic in the stockroom at work and only realised afterwards that a small piece of plastic has clung to the card. This WAS removed before passing it on!!! I did add a couple of things to Kerry's original (apart from an extra sheep!!!) I sponged in a sky and also sponged the sheep in Crumb Cake, not black, just to soften it a bit. I also managed (by luck rather than good management) to do the "ewe" in the same font as the top of it. I used the 'e' and 'w' from 'best wishes' and viola.

Here is a close up of one of the sheep......

...and yes...these are the same wee bows I tied on their original birth card too!!!!

I put the fact that they turned "1" on the inside of the card......

Both the Mum of the triplets and the Aunt were very happy with the card....and I have another 12 months to think of something for 2....if approached....LOL!!!

Thanks for dropping by.

Shock and Awwwwwwwwwww.......

Hi there all!!

Firstly, my sincere apologies for having not posted often recently. In a nutshell....things have taken on a MASSIVE full forward thrust here....and sadly, blogging was very much low on the list of priorities. I hope to remedy that today. I have so much to show you all. I have had many birthdays, been to craft camp this weekend just gone and have remained creating in the interim.

I cannot go any further without saying a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all my followers, readers and "poppers by" for helping me reach over 5,200 blog hits. I am gobsmacked and so very shocked to say the least. I hope you will continue to enjoy the cards and projects I share with you.

Onto the "AWWWWWWW" of today's title.

Now as you all may know, I am an avid sporty and netballer. One of the gals on the team recently got engaged, so I volunteerds to make the card for the happy couple. I was inspired by this card I saw on SCS. I did however wish for a splash of colour as opposed to the monochrome palate use on the SCS card. This is what I came up with.....

I must admit...I had a heck of a lot of fun making this card. I stuck to 3 colours.....Riding Hood Red, Choc Chip and Old Olive.....and Whisper White of course!! I was struggling with a main colour that wld suit both a boy and a gal, because the boy is getting the card too of course, then I stumbled across the DP that I received as a gift from the (lifesaving) Kerry Bunting. I attended one of her Cards for the Troops sessions and received this DP as part of a thank you gift for participating.

I also love the little details on the owls, being the small beaks (which PS I am really glad I do not cut for all the owls I do....LOL!!) and her small hair bow. The leaves are from the XL Bird Punch and sentiment is from "So Happy For You" which was one of the SAB SU sets this year.

Thanks for popping by. I have a MOUNTAIN of projects to sort thru and post, so pop by again soon please....you know that you are more than welcome.

Stuff Used:
CS: (SU) Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie (beaks), Riding Hood Red DP
Ink: (SU) Riding Hood Red
Stamps: (SU) So Happy For You (SAB '11)
Punches: (SU) Owl Punch, Bird Punch
Other Bits: Dimensionals, White Gel Pen

Punch Fun.....Again.......

I was looking back through my photos and found a card I had not posted!!! It is inly abt a month old...and was put together as a challenge card for Inspirations4U. Madeline set this......

I had to to a slight substitution, as I did not have Early Espresso or Marina Mist, so I used Chocolate Chip & Bashful Blue. For some odd reason, my mind went to nature. This is what I came up with...

Between you and I....it turned out a lot better than I had hoped. I was inspired but a version of this card here on SCS. To do the fence I cut 3cm wide strips of CS and then fed it in throught the top (underside) of the Small Tag punch so that just the top of the fence was nipped. hope that makes sense?? I then ran it through the Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug folder. I also sponged the clouds using a scallop circle punch. You can find the tutorial here. Looks better close up!!

This was the first time I had given my owl "wings"....also with the scallop circle punch, which also happened to be used to do the bushes on the fence. The vest on the owl was done by stamping the image from Itty Bitty Backgrounds onto the CS and then cutting it out as I did bot have any suitable blue DP.

This was such a fun and happy card. I hope it makes you smile too.
