Cupcake Fun!!

Whilst blurfing sometime ago I found a sweet little layout on Marelle Taylor's blog here. I got to thinking (a v v dangerous thing) and the inspiration for these cards came from some green textured gingham paper I found at Alice's. Now, as with all of my cards at present, i made a couple of versions, but slightly different on each card. Here's my version....

The layout is the same for both cards, however I changed the dry embossing on the icing....just for a slight change-up!!

 

Now the stamp-a-ma-jig is VITAL for this card to line up the candle correctly, but for a cute card for someone under the age of 5, I love them...hope you do too.  The squares at the bottom are for the age of the child.

Frankie....the new man in my life!!!!

One of the things I love to do is share the fun a joy of papercraft with anyone who'll listen. I am lucky enough to share from time to time projects with the After Care Kids at my children's school. One vacation care I did some Halloween projects with about 50 children, but this time around...it was only 30....but still they love the Halloween stuff. The children range from K-6...so I have to have a project that will keep all ages interested. I recalled blurfing sometime back these FAB Halloween boxes that were done by Nicole Derendorf here and here.

Here is what I created, based on Nicole's boxes that she made.....meet Frankie!!

Due to the varying ages of the kids, I premade the box part of it, but the cut out the shape of the face, hair (they all cut their own fringe design), put the eyes together (and they LOVED the bloodshot eye look) and of course the gruesome scars...LOL!!! Here are some pics of the kids being industrious and their finished products!!

                                     

                                          


 And finally I had to make a v v special mention of this wee chap....he is 6 and I was so very pleased (as was he) with what he had made!!!!

Of a Masculine Nature!!

I have seen MANY versions of this kind of card around the traps...and for a male card...I don't think you can go wrong. I started off doing it in the 'traditional' colours, then had a bit of a play. The other good thing about these cards is that they go up REALLY quick!! Gotta love that. Each of these cards is slightly different be it the colour combo or the placing of the sentiment. Either way...I love them and I hope you do too.

De ja vu!!!!

I will keep this short, as this is the same concept as previous, but just a different colour...this time....BLUES!!

This time around I used one SU DSP (Urban Garden) and a lovely distressed DP that I got from Scrappin' Kats before she closed down.

I Co-Ordinated - #1

     

You may recall this post a little while back. I stamped on DP (designer paper) for the first time and I loved the way it looked!! Well....I decided to set myself another couple of challenges...and one involving PINK!! I found this card on SCS. I thought of the DP's that I had and the colours that I could use.....here's what I came up with....

Now I have never made a set of co-ordinated cards before....let alone the shock and awe of using PINK, but I am happy with the way that they turned out. I uesd the Pink Pirouette side of the Bella Rose DSP (sadly now retired...##sniff##) and Riding Hood Red ink. Here are the cards individually...

Now the last wee trick I wish to share with you is with regards to the sentiment. Now I have a LOT of punches, but sadly I can not aquire them all (dare to dream). Now I have RACKED my brain to try and recall where this original idea came from and for the life of me I cannot find it....so if it is you...thanks you so v v much!! The RHR punch resembles the current SU Modern Label Punch, but it is not.....I punched the Scallop Oval Punch and cut it down to resemble it....HOW CLEVER!!!! So thanks who ever you are!! I think it looks FAB!!

Such a Beautiful Thing!

I have mentioned many times here that I love the things that the crafting community have bought to my life. Friends (some of whom I may never meet, but feel so close to them it isn't funny), inspiration, creativity and of course lots of laughter. One such blog buddy is Andrea Lowcock (EnchantINK). A Bevvy of Boxes - #4

The delightful Jenny Hayward recently had a post on a thing called a Boxy Bag. Now I LOVE making things to hold goodies....so I took up the challenge to make one and see what I could come up with.

Miss 6's 1st class teacher (who was also the teacher of Master of Cool (now 10)in the same grade) had a birthday...in September!!!!!! She is a delightful lady and so nurturing to the children, so I wanted to do something unique for her. A Boxy Bag was a good place to start. I also recently acquired "A rose is a Rose" set, which is sadly now retired. I found this card on SCS and I used it as a starting point. Now the large rose from this set is too big for the boxy bag...and I had the brainwave of miniturising the card on the bag to co-ordinate it. This is the gift set....

It held 2 Robert Timms Coffee Bags and 4 Twinnings Herbal Tea Bags (for when you need to come down off the caffeine high....LOL!!) It was all finished off with a small box of Lindt Chocolates and I stamped a white gift bag with the rose and leaf to tie everything together.

 

I am liking this co-ordination thingy a lot and will be back later with another couple of co-ordinated things I have done. Thanks for enduring this post till the end.
