CAS Butterflies

Morning all,

Today's card is a very simple one indeed. It is almost a direct CASE from this card I found on SCS. Here is my version....

They are not exactly the same as you can see. I am so loving the Embosslit Die as it gives you a quick card in a jiffy.

I rounded and fancy edged the corners for a bit of a change.

....and of course the 2 of them side by side.....

Thanks for popping by again. Soooooooooo many more things to show you.

Anyone for Dove??

Ever had one of those moments where you think you have an idea sussed out and under control.....only to go looking for it and totally distress yourself out because you can't recall where the heck you filed it on your laptop? You Google and search your laptop high and low all for nought?? This is how this whole project started out for me. I put the call out to my crafty friends on FB and the divine Miss Debbie P as well as Kerri Donsky via e mail aided me beautifully and guided me in the right direction. Using the instructions Kerri gave me and this tute here my project idea had life again.

The seeds of the idea started with this card that found on SCS, but DAH when I did it I omitted the background layer of DSP. I actually made this card at Craft Camp this year, but I do not think I posted it...DAH again!! This is my card......

Co-ordinated with this, I made a wee box that held 18 Dove chocolates...and this is the result....

And of course the set together.......

The beauty of the chocolate box is that when the inside is consumed, the divider can be removed and it can be used as a trinket box. needless to say, my friend who received it was sooooooo pleased, so therefore....mission accomplished.

Thanks for dropping by. I have a couple more co-ordinated gifts to share with you very soon.

Stuff Used:
CS: (SU) Always Artichoke, Rose Red, Springtime Vintage DSP
Ink: (SU) Rose Red
Stamps: (SU) Wonderful Favourites
Dies: (SU) Little Leaf, Beautiful Wings Embosslit and Nestabilities Labels One and Eight
Other Bits: Scrap Lace, 1/2 white Pearls fm stash, Dimensionals, SAMJ

Whose Birthday Is It??

Hey there.
Still in steamy Singapore, but now very close to the end of my stay....sniff!! (Sadly I land at 9pm tonight in Sydney). Thought I'd share a couple of male cards today that I made when inspired by THIS card. I had a lot of fun putting this together and guessing the dimensions. Here are my 2 versions....

I had to make a couple of minor adjustments due to the fact I do not have the Woodgrain BGS. I substituted in embossing folders with my Cuttlebug (Distressed Stripes and Branches). The idea was to give the impression of bark on a tree seen here.

I also did not have any twine, so I raided my old DMC embroidery cottons and used them on an eyelet and a 1" circle punch. I used Itty Bitty Backgrounds and stamped off some River Rock to get the speckled background. A simple slip knot and 1/2 a Mini Glue dot behind and all stuck securely!!

I was so very happy with the way these turned out and even moreso that I had a couple more male cards in my stash.

I should have my next post sent from Sydney. I think I am going to have fun adjusting to the cold again after dealing with 28-33deg C heat and humidity.....back to a chilly Sydney Winter....BRRRrrrrrr.

Tip-toe thru the Tulips......

My baby sister had her birthday recently. Now she is a REAL tough one to do a card for....cause she appreciates the effot I put into the cards I do...she's just "not that into them!!" Each to their own I guess. She had put out the request for her birthday this year...as things she can use so that she can re-do her back yard!! So I themed the card with this in mind. It was based on this BEAUTIFUL card I stumbled upon in SCS here.

Now also in my never ending drive to build up my stash and not directly replicate I changed things slightly with the 2nd card and practiced my masking technique!! Dunno if I am 100% on the outcome, but the eventual recipient of the 2nd card (my son's teacher) LOVED it...so I am happy!!

Card 1 (my sister's card)...

And the 2nd card......

I am keen to try out different colour combos of this card with navys, reds, browns and pinks....but all in good time right???

Thanks for popping by. Let me know your thoughts...I always appreciate any feedback positive or negative.
