From a Topper to........

Afternoon all,

Last year here I had some fun with some punch art. This year I thought I would put these cute guys on some Christmas cards. I also gave wee Rudolph a makeover and updated his antlers. I used the Snow Flurry die and used 2 of the "arms" of the snowflake for the antlers. Here is what I came up with.....

These (I think anyhow) are really cute. Each of them have a bit of bling as seen here.....

.....and here.....

The punch art critters are sitting on a WW matt and vellum overlay with "Merry Christmas" in various fonts, hence no need for a sentiment. A really easy card. A little texture on the large white matt and all done and dusted.

The "stuff used" for the punches is basically the same with the exception of the reindeer antlers.

Thanks for popping by.

E mail update....still NO ACCESS....turns out Microsoft were sending access codes to the e mail of the blocked account....DER!!!!!! So...once again I wait 3-5 working days...which PS will be Christmas...and I am really not overly confident. To all those blogs of whom I subscribe, I promise to comment really soon!!!

Giving Thanks

Morning all.

If you are anywhere around the east coast of Australia, I hope you are tolerating the heat. Saturday (1st day of Summer here) did not fail to impress with the mercury hitting 36.9 degs C (which for those who are Fahrenheit fluent is 98 degs F!!!)

As you may have read, I was lucky enough to attend the recent SU Heartfelt convention in Sydney with Angela Sargeant. She drove me in, showed me around and in general was the perfect hostess. Angela also generously lent me the stamp set that helped create my Diwali cards here and here.

Now I am the kind of gal who believes in saying the 2 small words "thank you" when needed and often. So I made a little something to thank Angela for her generosity and kindness. Now as most of you know, I love to tinker with all things 3D, so this is where I started. I was inspired by a fab tutorial here to make these gorjus wee beauties.

This is what I made Angela, they are lumieres for her Christmas table......

They hold a faux (or flameless) teal light candle and the light flickers through the vellum stamped windows. I got mine from the Reject Shop and I am guessing that they are a little easier to get than they have been in previous years. This is it lit up......

The "holly" was achieved by using the leaf from the XL Bird Punch and 1/4" circle.

I fashioned a "matching" card by keeping the same colour scheme and using one of the flowers from the Mixed bunch set.

Here is the lot together.....

Thanks for popping by. I have more Christmas fun and 3D items to share soon.

Craft Camp - #6

Morning all.

Welcome to what is the last of my Craft Camp projects (yippee I hear you all say!!) I have left these till last in the vain hope that I could get a proper picture of them...but alas....bad weather and light became my undoing!!

My inspiration for these cards came from this card by Mickey Roberts. These are my versions......

Initially I had these cards with nothing behind them like Mickey's, but I then thought it needed something more....so I ended up putting some vellum behind them. This gave it such a wonderful look IRL.

The little labels are done with the new Framelit dies and an embossing folder.

Here are all four lined up together..........

Again, I sincerely apologise for the horrid and dodgy photography. Sydney over the past couple of months has not been kind to crafters who wish to take pics of their creations!!!!

Thanks for enduring my Craft Camp creations for this year. I will resume normal crafting insanity very soon....promise!!

Stuff used:
CS: (SU) Concord Crush, Whisper White, DSP Stack II (In Colours 2011-2012), Vellum (from Alice in Paperland) and Hot Pink, Pink, Bright Blue and Yellow CS fm Connie's Creative Scrapbooking,
Ink: (SU) Concord Crush
Stamps: (SU) Sincere Salutations
Punches, Dies and Embossing: (SU) Wide Oval Punch, Ribbon Lace Border Punch, Labels Collection - Framelit Dies, Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Set
Other Bits: Dimensionals, Double sided tape

Finally used it!!!!

You may recall sometime back (May this year to be exact) I attended a Crafter's Retreat. Whilst there, I played with the Watercolour Rose Technique. I had previously attended a workshop some time ago under the guidance of Angela Sargeant. This is a beautiful way to colour without the need for much painting ability...hence why I gave it a go!!!! I have had it sitting there patiently waiting for the appropriate occasion to use it.

My SIL (#3) was another in the birthday bonanza of September. She is a soft and beautiful soul, so the rose was perfect for her. This is the result....

I used the Manhattan Rose embossing folder to emboss the Vellum and then layered the rose with some leaves from "A Rose is a Rose" stamp set to add a bit of interest. The depth and variation of colour you get with the rose and this technique is magical.

And a couple of obligatory close ups!!!

If you haven't tried this technique, why not give it ago. It's the kind of thing where no two are going to be the same, and if you do an aray of colours...and get caught short for a quick card, it may be what you need.

Thanks for popping by.

Crafter's Retreat #2

Thought I'd start this one off by showing you exactly where I was for that weekend. It was held at the Collaroy Salvation Army camp, where we have been this past 3 years and it is a truly magical place to be inspired and create.

Here are the views that we are greeted with from the dining room...

And here is where we crafted....

And some of the magical cards produced.....

There was a fantastic mix of Scrappers and card makers and even 1 cross stitcher (the sister of the organiser...so of course she got an inside running....LOL!!!)

Now for some more of my creations.....

I have been hanging out a lot to get the Manhattan Rose Embossing folder fm SU and gave it a run at camp. On SCS there are many cariations of this card...but it was my first real fling with Vellum and I am wrapped with the result. My Prob has always been how to get the vellum to adhere well to the CS without too much tell-tale traces. HUZZAH!!!!! The results.....

I so love the intricate detail of this folder....

I can see myseld doing a lot more of these cards as they go up in a flash and are spectacular. Will definitely drag out the vellum again too. I love the way it looks in the Scallop Oval Punch (note to self to sharpen same) with the sentiment on top.

Catch you all soon with yet more!!

Stuff used:
Card: (SU) Whisper White, Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry, Vellum.
Ink: (SU) Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry
Other bits: Vellum Spray Adhesive, (SU) Dimensionals and Scallop Oval Punch.
