Craft Camp - #5

Morning all.

Today's craft camp card was inspired by the amazing Jenny Hayward and her card seen here. Jenny's creation was in Blushing Bride (a pink!!!) and I guess if you're gunna CASE...you have to do as the crafting Romans do!!!! Not stopping at that one shade however, I changed a couple of colours position of flowers and came up with some wonderful generic cards for my stash.

These based on Jenny's card

Then with Cottage Wall DSP

...and finally with the GORJUS Graphic 45 DSP I used here.....

These cards also gave me the chance to play with the wonderful Edgelit Dies and co-ordinating set, Bordering on Romance and the Adorning Accents Embossing folders. They give such a different edge and really make a card look classy.

Thanks so much for the inspiration Jenny. I am very happy with the way that these turned out. Why don't you stop by Jenny's blog and see the wonderful things she creates??

Thanks for popping by.

Vintage flowers

Morning all.

Remember how I mentioned that I was a LONG way behind with my posts....well I discovered this one from January that for some odd reason had not made it yet!!!

Becky Roberts is an amazing paper crafter and it is from one of her creations I took a direct CASE. This is Becky's card. This is my version of Becky's card.......

To me the flower appeared a little flat....so I lightly curled the edges of the petals a little and came up with this.....

It made such a huge difference don't you think?? Here is the difference side on.....

Did you also notice that there is no neutral colour CS on this card...no white and no vanilla!!!! Who'd have thunk right??? The sentiment is stamped directly onto the DSP. Here are the 2 cards together.....

Thanks for popping by. I hope you are all enjoying the Easter break and didn't OD too much on those eggs.

Stuff used:
CS: (SU) Always Artichoke, Rose Red, Springtime Vintage DSP
Ink: (SU) Early Espresso, Soft Suede (for sponging the petal edges and leaves)
Stamps: (SU) Sincere Salutations, Best Yet
Punches/Dies: (SU) 5 Petal Flower Punch, Fun Flowers Bigz L Die
Other bits: Buttons, Mini Glue Dots, Neutral coloured embroidery floss

Anyone for Dove??

Ever had one of those moments where you think you have an idea sussed out and under control.....only to go looking for it and totally distress yourself out because you can't recall where the heck you filed it on your laptop? You Google and search your laptop high and low all for nought?? This is how this whole project started out for me. I put the call out to my crafty friends on FB and the divine Miss Debbie P as well as Kerri Donsky via e mail aided me beautifully and guided me in the right direction. Using the instructions Kerri gave me and this tute here my project idea had life again.

The seeds of the idea started with this card that found on SCS, but DAH when I did it I omitted the background layer of DSP. I actually made this card at Craft Camp this year, but I do not think I posted it...DAH again!! This is my card......

Co-ordinated with this, I made a wee box that held 18 Dove chocolates...and this is the result....

And of course the set together.......

The beauty of the chocolate box is that when the inside is consumed, the divider can be removed and it can be used as a trinket box. needless to say, my friend who received it was sooooooo pleased, so therefore....mission accomplished.

Thanks for dropping by. I have a couple more co-ordinated gifts to share with you very soon.

Stuff Used:
CS: (SU) Always Artichoke, Rose Red, Springtime Vintage DSP
Ink: (SU) Rose Red
Stamps: (SU) Wonderful Favourites
Dies: (SU) Little Leaf, Beautiful Wings Embosslit and Nestabilities Labels One and Eight
Other Bits: Scrap Lace, 1/2 white Pearls fm stash, Dimensionals, SAMJ

Crafter's Retreat #6

WARNING....More butterflies contained in this post!!! :)

One of the cards that I really wanted to have a go at whilst at camp was this card that I saw on SCS. We do not have Springtime Vintage DP here in Australia (yet....but fingers crossed), but I was lucky enough to receive some as a gift from the US. This is my version of the card...and yes I did 2....not exactly the same...but sorry...I cannot do it...hee hee hee.

I did not sponge the edges on this one...as I left them at home.....along with many other things. I hate packing in a flurry!!! This card was also a challenge as it had NO Whisper White or Vary Vanilla CS to speak of...and I kinda liked it. I am also very much liking stamping onto DP.

Yes...there are more butterflies to come, but I may break the monotony of Crafter's Retreat posts with a couple of other ones.

Thanks for popping by. I should be at the airport now,  very close to taking off......ash clouds and all taken into consideration!!

Stuff Used:
CS: (SU) Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Springtime Vintage DSP
Ink: (SU) Not Quite Navy
Stamps: (SU) Sincere Salutations
Other bits: (SU) Bigz Beautiful Butterfly Die, Dimensionals, Tulip Embossing Folder
