Sunny With A Chance Of.....

Morning all.

Today....I have a very, very rare card....a Teen MALE card!!! Recently, Bestie's eldest hit the big 13! I think she is nearly over the shock. She is my role model as her eldest is nearly a year to the day older than my boy.

Whilst blurfing (as I so often do) I came across this magical technique by Geri Utterback. Ashamedly I had not inked up my Extreme Surfer stamp that retired the year previous to the one just gone!! I had this idea bouncing around my brain for a fair while. It combined 2 techniques I do not do often....sponging and wet embossing. Her is the new teen's card......

Personally, I think it looks just a little cool...and a massive happy dance was done when finished!! DH when I showed him even thought I had bought the card!!! Here is the embossing up close....

Usually I would first ink up in Versamark and then the darker ink and then the clear EP, but with the new formulated SU Foam Ink Pads, they are so JUICY, I did not need Versamark!!! Both the birthday boy and Bestie were suitably impressed with the card...I hope you are too.

Thanks for popping by.

Stuff Used:

Ink: (SU) Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Midnight Muse

Bunch of Blossom Punches!!

Morning all.

I got to play with my Blossom Punch. There are LOTS of these types of cards out there now, but the one I sourced inspiration from was here on Eileen Lefevre's blog. I loved the pop of red. We did not (and still don't) have the DSP she used on her card here in Australia yet, but may soon. I had a did through my stash of DSP's and came up with the following. I made a stack of them and now have once again broadened my stash.

Here they are......

These are with Whisper White.....

and these on Very Vanilla........

I made a couple of changes in that I did not have as may layers and I also made the embossed inset slightly smaller. Got to use a stack of buttons too. changed the leaves on some as well....can't have 2 cards the same now can I??? For those of you who have not seen this done before, the embossed panel is punched with the blossom punch and then a matched flower from the DSP is placed offset to this one and on dimensionals. This pic may explain it a little better.......

The banner is "waved" slightly by popping the middle of it up on dimensionals.

Here are all 4 together......

A Little OTT Perhaps???

Good morning all!!

A courtesy head's up for you all....there are lots of pics in this post! You have been warned.

Miss 7 came home with a party invite for a school mate. She was FULL of ideas as to what she wanted to give her. So, we wrote them down, crossed off the "not quite appropriate" ones and focused on what we could achieve. She wanted the gift to be in her favourite colours (blues, read and greens) and also have butterflies. Definitely doable so far.....and.....she also wanted to give a candle!!! So....off to work I went......

Firstly the card. I had seen this card on SCS and put it to my CASE file. This was our version...

I sponged the edges of the embossed butterfly and mounted both on Dimensionals.

Of course on the inside...I had to use my "ever so useful" big glittery numbers!!

Next....the reds and greens portion. I had recently acquired the Scallop Envelope Die and a basket was a good choice. We could fill it with red and green things perhaps?? The basket was born....

Now for the candle....

A little while ago through Debbie P's blog, I was introduced to The Craft's Meow stamp set - Butterfly Kisses here. I have used the large image on another candle which I have not yet posted, but I could not resist using it again. This was the candle....
Front

....and back

All together, this is what the present looked like...

Needless to say Miss 7 was over the moon with the gift and I must admit I was pretty chuffed with it too. I thought the wee tags with the birthday girl's initial on it were the perfect finishing touch. After the party, in the playground at school, the Mum of the birthday girl chased me down and told me how much she LOVED her gift. Mission accomplished (phew)!!

Thanks for enduring to the end of the post. Now there are quite a few things used in this set, so if you have any questions....please leave me it in the comments and I will get back to you.

CASE'ing is the nicest way to flatter....

Good morning all.

One of my all time favourite blogs to visit is EnchantINK. Not so long ago Andrea posted this beautiful card. It struck a chord with me instantly. She is so very sweet in that she supplies a card recipe at the end of all her posts, which makes CASEing them all the more easy. So, with the supplies I had available to me, this is my version of Andrea's stunning card......

Now I do not have any of the ribbon or the exact butterfly stamp, but I had similar and I was happy with that. The other fantastic thing about this card is that it made me try things that I had not attempted before, like embossing on Vellum and sponging ink onto the BGS to give the wonderful aged look and layering a background. Here are some close ups....

I was so happy with the way that this card turned out, I thought I'd try again (are you sitting down Andrea??) in PINK!!!!!! Here it is....

I now am going to try some other colour combinations and see what I can come up with.

Thanks so much Andrea for provinding such a beautiful card to challenge me. See what you can find in blog land that challenges you.
