So Feelin' the LURVE!!!!!

Hi all,

Is anyone else feeling the breeze on your cheeks as time flies by??? It is insanity really....don't you think???

I have been feeling so much love lately. Blog awards are doing the rounds of late and I have been a very, very lucky lady.....receiving 2 awards, but one from multiple folks!!

The first is.....

I was kindly awarded this my Melissa Davies, Helen Williams and last but not least Beth Beard. I had only recently discovered Beth's blog very recently and the next thing I know I have received this award!!!

First and foremost, I want to say a MASSIVE thank you for all the wonderful kindness, love and encouragement I received on my last card. I was truly blown away by the massive amount of comments.

Nicest Surprise

Yes...I am still here...although very infrequently and for that I am so sorry. There has been so much going on under our roof......mania has taken over with its close cousin chaos!!

Most of you I am sure are aware of the delightful Andrea Lowcock. Over a week ago (and I know I am so v v slow to do this) she passed on this to me....

I had to had to have a giggle at this...cause style is one thing I am rarely accused of!!!

Now as usual...there are things you have to do....and one is share 5 things about me...so here goes....

1. I am a passionate St George (Dragons) supporter

2. I so love Dirty Dancing (the movie) and watching it is my guiltiest pleasures

3. I am a "gunna" hoarder. I have lots of projects and techniques that I am gunna do...but never seem to get around to!!!

4. I am really loving "vintage" themed/looking crafts at the moment.

5. It IS really embarrassing getting sprung by your kids rocking out to 80's songs in the kitchen!!!

I will open this post with an apology to the lovely person who gave me this award as it was bestowed upon me nearly a week ago.

Feelin' the LURVE!!

Afternoon all!! I hope that all the party prepeparations are in check for tomorrow night....me....I am a nanna....and will prob JUST make it to midnight....and then collapse fm a very long day at work!!!

Saturday is a very special day....as this blog is turning 1!!! (inset blasting sounds of vuvuzellas and the cheers of the gathering throng!!)

2 very special people who "encouraged" (prompted/cajoled/coersed/etc/etc) me into getting this beast up and running were Andrea....EnchantINK and Kerry.....KB Papercraft. to my surprise and astonishment, both of them have bestowed upon my this.......

Now apart from these 2 ladies being wonderful friends...they are both incredibly generous in heart, soul and creative spirit. now as with most awards, this comes with conditions and the like....these are....

8 things about me...that you may not already know....

1. I am (and always have been) a GEEK. I am into Science in a big way. Thankfully...so is Master of Cool (aka Master 10)
2. BC (before children) I played Indoor Cricket on a team with my Hubby. We batted together and rarely got out (apparently all the threats worked...LOL!!)
3. I suck BIG time at Geography....if you wanna stump my at Trivial Pursuit....gimme the blue Q!
4. I have been on TV 3 times of note in my life.....once on Romper Room (with Miss Patricia as a 4yo), as a Contestant on Temptation (the old Sale of the Century) and most recently as a contestant on National Bingo Night (which sadly (thankfully) did not have a long run...but I did win a nice sum of cash!!)
5. As a child....I had heart surgery at the age of 7.....for a Congenital problem, and as a result of that developed Asthma.
6. I LOVE trivia...I have a major vault of useless crap stashed away to call upon at any given time.....and (sometimes knowingly) freak people out!!
7. "ditto 6" for song lyrics. MAJOR peeve of my DH that I can sing along to most anything!!!
8. Speaking of DH....I am apparently a walking dictionary....to be used at his beck and call to spell words for him that he cannot be bothered to look up for hmself or sound out....as we encourage our KIDS TO DO!!!!

Now Andrea also "tagged me"....and this involves making a list....of which I think will also give you a slightly BIGGER insight into my twistered world!! I have based this list on the one from Andrea's blog.

# If you think something is not right....SPEAK UP
# Having chats to a loved one who has passed is not crazy...it's actually therapy.
# Acknowledge the way you are brought up, but it is not the only way to be.
# Lessons learnt from past experience teach you future resolve!!

4 things I am looking forward to
# My dad's 70th b'day next week.
# Finding/creating a creative space for me in my home....I currently work in a space of 2 seats on my diding table and pack away every night!!
# Seeing what the Sensor chip (that I am wearing in lat Jan) tells me about my diabetes
# The eternal desire to sleep in!!

4 things I did yesterday
# Watched the Cricket
# Had (another) hypo
# Did 2 loads of washing
# Made 4 cards (2 of each design...so essentially only 2...hee hee hee)

4 things I love abt Winter/Summer
I am not a cold person, but don't do well in extreme heat either!!
I have only been skiing once...and I hated it!!! (but then again...I don't do the beach either)
I love the smell of grass after a storm in Summer
LURVE daylight saving

4 places I would love to visit
Greece (again) esp Santorini and spend longer in Delphi this time!!
Singapore...which is on the list for mid next year as i will be visiting my bestie there!!

I have mentioned many times here that I love the things that the crafting community have bought to my life. A Wonderful Surprise!!

I love to BLURF!! (blog surf). From it I am always inspired to try new colour combos, techniques, get the odd impulse buy stamp set....and along the way, make cherished and magical friendships. Kerry Bunting (KB Papercraft) is one such friend. She started as a blog buddy and then a year or so back we literally crossed paths at a Stitches and Craft Show at Rosehill. Sadly, the meeting resembled 2 teenage gals a a Zac Effron appearance (LOL)!! Anyhow, Kerry, who inspires me in so many other ways than crafting, bestowed an award upon myself and this blog!!!

Definitely Feelin' the LURVE!!

Hey all. Hope you are having a FAB weekend. I was away at a crafter's Retreat (last weekend) and had such a FANTASTIC time...I didn't wanna leave. I also arrived home to 60+ emails and lots of other bits and pieces...and I promise to post all the stuff I did at camp. One project I am particularly happy about.

Anyhow....back to the title...

1. I am a Type 1 diabetic and I wear and insulin Pump to keep me upright and functional (some of you who know me well may question if it's doing its job right!!

2. I have not eaten Pizza in over 12 years.

3. I have not touched alcohol in over 12 years....and no the 2 are not related...LOL!!!

4. I have a boy 9 and a girl 5.

5. I work as a Registered nurse in a buzzing General Practice at Hunters Hill in Sydney

6. I won a karoke competition on my honeymoon!!!

7. I have a passion for papercrafting but also for dance and musical theatre.

8. I have danced in one form or another for MOST of my life.

9. I am a sport-a-holic and will devoutly follow anhthing that deserves it.

10. I believe that laughter is a great healer and cure-all and sincerely hope that more people will pass it on as it always makes you feel goo....no matter how CRAP your day is!!

Another First!!

The delightful Cheryl received the Happy 101 Award....and then kindly forwarded it onto me!! This is the first 'award' I have received as a blogger...so thanks very much Cheryl!!

I have to list 10 things that I like....here goes...
1. Laughter...without it the world would be a very different place.
2. Creativity...either within myself or admiring it in others...it is amazing!!
3. My kids...constant source of joy and pain, but life would be dull without them.
4. Hubby (just in case he reads this!!)...see same reason as above!!
5. Nursing...one thing I am passionate about, brings new challenge everyday.
6. Coffee....preferably HOT....unfortunately over the years have learnt to drink it at other temps too (ik!!)
7. Dance..doing it or watching it..it's another passion!!
8. Papercraft...stopped my other crafty ambitions...but it's all part of the journey ain't it??
9. Friends...vital part of life. They inspire me to undertake and do other things I have listed.
10. Colour...since crafting...I have looked at things is a new light...and it's been fun.....with the exception of one colour...that I will tolerate only....lol!!!
