Bold, Bright and Funky

Sometime back the devine Debbie P and I swapped some images. I have been slowly been working my way through them. Debbie also very generously helped me through a very tough choice about what Nestabilities would be best for me and what I do.

Recently one of my niece's turned 10...so for such a special occasion...I turned to one of these images. I wanted to do a slightly less traditional colour combination, so I chose purple, fluro orange and fluro green. Here is the resulting card...

I got to get out my new Nestabilities for the "10" tag. I love it. here are the obligatory close ups..

I coloured her with a mix of my watercoloured Faber-Castell pencils and my Lyra Aqua crayons. I love this colour combo for tweens as it isn't classically PINK. ;)

This was teamed with a cute to boot gift that'll be shown next post.

Squeals of Delight!!

The brilliant and incredibly talented Debbie P posted this some time ago. I commented the following:
"Such a fun filled card Deb...LOVE it and so does Miss 5!!! Don't envy you cutting round those swirls tho..LOL!! One day I hope the prince turns up before Pumpkin soup is reached!! The fairy Godmother is too cure as well. Brilliant!! ooxx"

Well blow me down if Debbie didn't do something so very speccy to make a little gal's day. About a week or so after, the very same stunning creation appeared in our letterbox addressed to our daughter. 1...she was stoked to get mail addressed to her....and 2......the deafening squeals of delight when she opened it up to discover it was the same card she has seen on "Mummy's Computer". Inside also was a wonderful note explaining that she thought it should be in a little girl's room.

Here is what turned up in out mail box that made my daughter so very happy....

From a crafter's perspective, I am in total AWE of Debbie's fantastic colouring and attention to detail. Of course, you can click on the above link to see how she does all these incredible elements, but here are just a couple of close ups to tease you a bit.

I cannot thank Debbie enough for sharing her stunning card with my daughter. It has taken pride of place in her bedroom and when the morning sun hits it, all the sparkles twinkle in her room. She has made Miss 6 very happy indeed.

Crafter's Retreat #5

Yes....and still the creations come!!!!

The FAB Debbie P posted the most amazing wee box project sometime back...here....and I KNEW I had to give it a crack. I wanted to give it to my MIL for Mother's day. For this project I broke out the stunning Cottage Wall DSP and used the co-ordinating colours in that to make it work. I had many crafters looking at me put this together...and Debbie you'll be very happy to know it has a HUGE ooooooooooo and ahhhhhhhh factor!!! Debbie used the too cute Magnolia stamps...I decided to play a wee more with my Vintage Vogue clear mount stamps. The also very talented Kez and done some similar things here and here.

My MIL loved her Mother's day pressie (thank goodness). I had so much fun making these boxes and I can see many more being made in to not too distant future.
